About this contract deadline tracker

The Contract Deadline Tracker keeps every agreement, end date, and key milestone in one colour-coded list, so the contracts that need attention rise straight to the top and nothing slips past its expiry quietly.

Spreadsheets and calendar reminders are easy to set up and just as easy to forget. This tracker gives each contract a live countdown of days remaining, an urgency colour, and a progress bar showing how far through its term it is — recalculated every time you open the page. Red flags anything due within a week, orange within a month, yellow within three months, green for everything comfortably ahead, and grey for contracts that have already lapsed. You add a name, the other party, a start and end date, and any notes such as the notice period or renewal terms, then let the colours do the triage for you. People use it to:

Everything runs locally in your browser and is saved only to this device — nothing you enter is uploaded to any server, so even sensitive client names and contract terms stay private. Export a CSV whenever you want a backup or a copy to share, and remember that clearing your browser data also clears the saved contracts.

How to use
  1. Click "Add Contract" and enter the contract name, client or party, start and end dates, and optional notes.
  2. Use the Notes field to record the notice period, renewal terms, or any reminder you want to keep with the contract.
  3. Save it — the contract appears in the list, sorted by urgency so the soonest deadline sits at the top.
  4. Read the urgency colours at a glance: red (≤7 days), orange (8–30), yellow (31–90), green (90+), grey (expired), with a countdown of days remaining and a progress bar for each.
  5. Edit, delete, or export your contracts to CSV anytime, and update the end date when a contract renews.
FAQ

Days remaining are the difference between today and the contract end date, expressed in whole days. The calculation runs fresh on every page load.

Exclusively in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server. Clearing your browser data will remove stored contracts, so export a CSV backup if needed.

Yes — edit the contract and update the end date when it renews. Use the Notes field for renewal reminders like "Auto-renews unless cancelled 30 days prior".

Set the contract end date to the notice deadline rather than the actual expiry — that is the date you really need to act by. For example, if an agreement runs to 31 December but requires 60 days notice, enter 1 November as the end date so the countdown and urgency colour warn you in time. Note the true expiry in the Notes field for reference.

Auto-renewing contracts usually have a cancellation window that closes before the renewal date. Enter that cut-off as the end date so the tracker turns orange or red as it approaches, and record the renewal terms in Notes. Once the contract renews, edit it and move the date forward to the next cancellation window so the cycle keeps tracking.

No — this is a visual tracker rather than an alerting service, so it does not send emails or push notifications. Instead it shows live urgency colours and a days-remaining countdown every time you open the page. For active reminders, export the CSV and import the key dates into your calendar app, which can then notify you ahead of each deadline.

Red means 7 days or fewer remain, orange means 8 to 30 days, yellow means 31 to 90 days, green means more than 90 days, and grey means the contract has already expired. The progress bar shows how much of the contract term has elapsed between its start and end dates, so you can see at a glance how far along each agreement is.
